Conscious sedation by inhalation (laughing gas)

Conscious sedation by inhalation is a light sedation technique in which the patient remains conscious. It is a mix of oxygen and nitrous oxide, and it is both safe and effective. It is used to reduce anxiety among very nervous patients so that the dental procedure can be performed under the best of conditions. [^]

Dental fillings without mercury or lead

We no longer use gray mercury-based fillings. Scientific research has shown that these can emit toxic vapors which can be absorbed into the body.

Mercury fillings can also cause teeth to crack. [^]

Wisdom teeth removal

Wisdom teeth extraction consists of removing the top and/or bottom third molars which are located at the very back of the jaw. Wisdom teeth should be removed for the following reasons:

• if they are growing in the wrong direction, if they are impacted, or if they have caused or will cause pain, swelling or infection;
• if they are likely to affect the proper alignment of your teeth due to lack of space;
• if they are decayed and cannot be restored by traditional care. [^]

Endodontics (root canal)

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays use 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays. These X-rays allow us to magnify details to help us make a more precise diagnosis in order to prescribe the most effective treatment. [^]

Laser cavity detector

Diagnodent is a fluorescent laser which helps us detect invisible tooth decay quickly and easily, thus allowing us to treat cavities at an early stage. The Diagnodent analyzes each tooth with a fluorescent light which looks different depending on whether the tooth is healthy or decayed. [^]

Laser surgery

An advantage of laser surgery is faster recovery time due to the biostimulation and anti-inflammatory effects which allows tissue to heal much faster than with traditional instruments. With laser surgery, there is also significantly less post-operative pain, and there is no gum swelling. [^]

Microabrasion

Certain tooth decay problems can be treated without anesthetic. Microabrasion is a procedure that is aimed directly at the cavity itself so that the healthy part of the tooth is protected as much as possible. The result is that the tooth is less fragile after treatment.

Microabrasion is also used to prepare a tooth’s surface for a filling. It removes tiny particles from the tooth to ensure better bonding of filling material to the tooth or to the tooth enamel. [^]

Crowns on implants

A dental implant is made of titanium and replaces the natural tooth root. First, the implant is placed into the jawbone in the location of the missing tooth. After the implant has had a chance to heal, the dentist places a crown on the root as though it were a natural root.
